Mourinho Questions Players’ Ability After Arsenal Draw

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has questioned his players’ ability after his side drew Arsenal 2-2 at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

United came from a goal down to level the game twice, but both goals Mourinho’s side conceded were a result of individual errors.

David de Gea produced an uncharacteristic howler for Arsenal’s first goal, while a Marcos Rojo giveaway led to Alexandre Lacazette grabbing the second for the Gunners.

Though he lamented his team’s mistakes, Mourinho did praise their effort at Old Trafford.

“We shoot ourselves so many times during the season. That is really, really difficult, but big soul by the players,” Mourinho told BT Sport.

“Fantastic attitude from the first minute. Many players in difficulties, some good performances but players in difficulty.

“We should win the game. We made two big mistakes for their goals, we made other mistakes that were the mistakes to allow them to have counter-attack situations.”

Mourinho was unable to finish speaking about the match, however, without calling out his players in an apparent shot at their lack of talent relative to other top teams in the league.

“It’s a positive sign but there are things that I cannot get from them and I cannot say much more than this,” Mourinho said.
