Finland university bird, caught in Jigawa State

A Western Osprey (Pandion Haliaetus) owned by the University of Helsinki, Finland, has been released into the wild after being caught in Jigawa State.

According to one Abubakar S. Ringim, a Zoologist, the bird was caught on 25/10/2018, at Malam Madori, Jigawa. A tracker found on it, showed that it left Finland, 109 days earlier and had covered 5808km during it’s winter migration.

However, after being celebrated by the locals, it was released at the Baturiya Wetland Reserve in Jigawa.
