Trump tweeted the news of Dr. Ronny Jackson’s nomination on Wednesday, also announcing that department of defense under secretary Robert Willkie will serve as acting VA secretary.

Shulkin and Donald Trump’s administration didn’t see eye to eye on many issues with Shulkin fighting back against calls to privatize and overhaul the VA. According to our sources, Jackson received an unrelated promotion last Friday in an article that noted the physician’s superlative- filled assessment of Trump’s health in which he cited the president’s “incredible genes” earlier this year.
Jackson’s a US Navy medical doctor who has served under three presidents, was nominated to move from rear admiral (upper half) to rear admiral (lower half) last week, which will result in a pay increase.
