Both chambers of the Nigerian National Assembly on Tuesday, March 27, commenced its second hearing on the 2018 budget.
Addressing a joint session consisting of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, the Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki, expressed worry that the 2018 budget which was presented to the National Assembly by the President since November last year is yet to be passed.
The Senate President therefore urged the legislators and the ministries, departments and agencies to fast track the process.
The joint session hearing featured presentations and discussions by various ministries.
Recall that the National Assembly had accused some government agencies of effecting delay in the passage of the appropriation bill by failing to appear before it to defend their budget proposals.
