DPR Seals 14 Filling Stations in Kogi for Illegal Operation, Diversion

The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has sealed 14 filling stations in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State.

According to reports, some of the filling stations were sealed for under dispensing whereas others were sealed for operating illegally.

The head of Retail Outlet and Monitoring Department of DPR, Malam Ibrahim Mijinyawa, said that the department decided to carry out the surveillance exercise to check the delivery of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), as well as diversion.

He expressed dissatisfaction with the rate at which some operators shortchange the public adding that the stations shut down for under-dispensing were taking nothing less than 1.53 litters of every 2 litters.

Malam Ibrahim advised filling stations to operate within the confines of the law and urged the public to promptly report filling stations involved in sharp practices.
