A recent report has indicated that a massive explosion from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on Sunday, March 11, killed soldiers of 8 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kagaruwa near Monguno in Borno State.

The explosion was said to be the handiwork of the Islamic terrorist group, Boko Harm, whom the Nigerian military has claimed several times, to have defeated and driven out of their stronghold in Sambisa Forest.

The incident, which has not received much publicity for unknown reasons, according to a source, occurred about 8 am.

Many soldiers were said to have been injured in the attack, although no figure has been released in that respect by the authorities.
