Following the emergence of a Nigerian, Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji, as President of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Nigerians have expressed their congratulations to the first rate legal expat and countryman.
In his congratulatory message to the new ICC President, Judge Eboe-Osuji, the Nigeria Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, described the appointment as a positive development for Nigeria.
In a similar vein, the Deputy Senate President, Chief Ike Ekweremadu, described the appointment as an honor for Nigeria and the entire Africa.
Senator Ekeremadu in as statement said that Eboe-Osuji’s emergence as the President of the International Court did not come as a suprise due to his pedigree and wealth of experience.
Chile Eboe-Osuji from Mbano in Imo State graduated from the University of Calabar where he bagged a bachelor’s degree in Law in 1985 and later got a Master of Law from a university in Canada.
With his appointment, Eboe-Osuji goes down in history as the first Nigerian to become the President of the International Court.
