A recent report has indicated that the now former Acting Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Mallam Bako Abdullahi, yesterday handed over the now former Secretary to the commission, Mallam Musa Usman Abubakar.
Mallam Abdullahi’s tenure is said to have expired hence prompting the handover of the commission’s leadership to Abubakar.
At the handover event, Abdullahi expressed gratitude to the government for the opportunity he got to serve, both as member and acting chairman of the commission.
He used the occasion to commend the management and staff of the commission for the tremendous support he had received from them while he served and urged them to extend the same level of support to the new Chairman.
The outgoing Acting Chairman therefore appealed to the staff and management of the commission not to allow the recent Transparency International’s very poor rating of Nigeria on the most corrupt countries index not to affect their commitment in the fight against corruption.
On his part, the new Chairman of ICPC, Mallam Abubakar, commended the out-going Acting Chairman for effectively piloting ICPC adding that with worker’s cooperation, he would deliver on his new role as ICPC Chairman.
