Delta State has announced that it has earmarked N200 billion to revamp primary and secondary schools in the state.
The state Governor, Dr Ifanyi Okowa, made the pronouncement during a town hall meeting with the people of Isiokolo in Etiope East Local Government Area of the state.
Governor Okowa explained that the state has over 1000 primary schools and 475 secondary schools pointing out that his administration was committed to ensuring conducive environment for learning.
He stated that the ongoing bio-metric capturing of teachers in the state is to ensure that only genuine teachers who teach were paid.
The Governor, however, expressed disappointment over the slow pace of work of the Senate building at the Delta State University Abraka.
Governor Okowa therefore gave assurance that the challenges hindering the speedy completion of the project will be promptly addressed.
