What a High Court Judge Did to an Accused for Late Comming to Court

A Federal High Court Judge in Lagos, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, has revoked the bail of an accused former staff of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mr Alu Dismas, over late coming to the court.

The Judge, Justice Olatoregun, explained that it was not the first time the accused was coming to court late for his trial adding that the court does not wait for an accused.

The court proceeding had been scheduled to commence at 9 am at which time only the first accused person was in court.

However, Mr Dismas arrived the court later at about 10:35 am after the matter had been put aside.

But as the proceedings resumed, the Judge said that she has had enough of the accused person’s late coming and therefore revoked his bail.

On hearing the Judge’s decision, Mr Dismas broke down and wept in the courtroom.
