Security operatives have warned candidates and political leaders in Kano against violence in the Local Government election scheduled to hold on the 10th of February in the state.
The Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mr Rabiu Yusuf, gave the warning during an inter security agency forum held in Kano.
Mr Yusuf who serves as the chairman of the joint security forum said that the security agencies were prepared to provide a level playing ground without fear or favor from any quarters.
He therefore called on the election candidates and other party leaders to abide by the rules of the game and not engage in any acts capable of casing a breech of peace.
Mr Yusuf also asked politicians and their supporters to avoid thuggery but to pursue their aspirations in accordance with the laid down electoral guidelines.
On their part, representatives of all the political parties in Kano agreed to abide by all the laws governing the conduct of the election.
