2019: ‘Go and Rest,’ – Obasanjo Tells Buhari in an Open Letter

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has written an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhri in which he stated that Nigeria must be good at home and abroad.

He added that the nation’s situation in the last decade showed that Nigeria is not good enough at home and it has adversely affected its influence abroad.

The former President wrote that although President Buhari deserves commendation for fighting corruption, he should take a deserved rest from politics and join the league of statesmen whose experiences are important for the nation.

Recall that there have been insinuations that President Buhari is considering running for a second term in office and there have been waves of political merchants trooping to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa to endorse and re-endorse him for a second term in office.
