In an effort to curtail the incessant killings by armed Fulani herdsmen across the country, the Federal Executive Council in its meeting yesterday, Thursday, January 18, approved the setting up of a committee to be chaired by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Making the revelation yesterday after the FEC meeting yesterday, the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, explained that the committee consists of nine state governors.
The governors are those of Kaduna, Zamfara, Taraba, Benue, Adamawa, Edo, Plateau, Oyo, and Ebonyi states.
According to Governor Ganduje, the committee is to work with the Federal Government to address what he refereed to as ‘the violence’, and to help ensure that all perpetrators are brought to book.
