The Director General of the Institute of Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR), Professor Oshita O. Oshita, has called for a mutual understanding between farmers and herdsmen across the country for peaceful coexistence.
Professor Oshita made the call during a media conference held in Abuja on the recent killings by Fulani herdsmen in some parts of the country.
He argued that such attacks would adversely affect the Federal Government’s diversification plan for the economy especially in the Agriculture sector.
Prof Oshita therefore condemned in strong terms the mindless killings by Fulani herdsmen of the innocent indigenous peoples across the country.
He, however, commended the security agencies for their efforts at preventing the escalation of the attacks.
