AMAC Presents N6.96 Billion 2018 Budget


The Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Malam Abdullahi Candido, has presented a N9.96 budget for the 2018 fiscal year.

The figure, according to reports, represents an increase of 11.76 per cent from last year’s budget.

During the presentation of the budget tagged ‘the Budget of Reality and Consolidation’, at the FCT chambers in Abuja, Malam Candido said the budget proposal was aimed at addressing the pressing needs of the communities in the area.

He explained that the budget followed the zero budgeting system in order to eliminate inefficiency and focus on activities that have direct bearing on the lives of the citizens.

on the proposal, the council Chairman revealed, is the allocation of N40 million for the construction of the AMAC Community Radio to be completed within the first quarter of the year.

On his part, the Speaker of AMAC Legislative Council, Hon Daniel Shanyibwa Michael, commended the chairman for his efforts and appealed to him to act in accordance to the stipulations of the budget.
