The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released details of electoral activities ahead of the 2019 general election.
The INEC chairman, Malam Mahmood Yakubu, made the disclosure yesterday Tuesday January 9, in Abuja while addressing newsmen.
He stated that the conduct of the party primaries and resolution of disputes will take place between August 18 and October 17 this year.
As for campaign for National Assembly elections the INEC chairman said it will commence from the 18th of November this year and end on January 14, 2019.
Malam Yakubu stated further that campaign for governorship and state assembly election will start on December 1, this year and end on February 28, 2019.
He also announced that the notice for all elections will be released on the 17th of August while collection of nomination forms for national and state assembly elections has been fixed for the 17th and 24th of August.
Malam Yakubu therefore assured Nigerians that the commission will adhere strictly to the timetable while appealing to stakeholders to play by the rules.
Recall that INEC earlier announced that elections will take place on February 18th while governorship and state assembly elections will hold on 2nd March, 2019.
