How Boko Haram Fought to take over Military Base in Borno State

The dreaded Boko Haram Islamic terrorists on Wednesday attempted to take over a military base in an attack that lasted about an hour at an army outpost in the Mainok Village of Borno State.

Eyewitnesses to the deadly attack said the Islamist militants tried to storm the outpost in the village but that the Nigerian troops was able to repel them with heavy reinforcement.

The gunmen allegedly came from the direction of Buni Yadi in Yobe, which connects the Sambisa Forest in Borno State, the main base of the Abubakar Shekau branch of Boko Haram.

However, due to the nature of attack staged by the terrorists, there are fears especially among the residents of the area, that Boko Haram might be making a comeback to the area.
