The Ikorodu area of Lagos which has become in recent times, synonymous with all that is reprehensible in the modern day society ranging from kidnapping to cult killings, is once again in the news.
This time around, pregnant women in the area rallied together to condemn what they described as the very poor state of primary health center in the area.
The women in their numbers lamented lack of basic needs like water and light at the center stating that the facility has become an eye sore. They explained that when they gave birth at nigh, it was normally in darkness as there was no alternate electricity supply and there is little or no regular water supply.
They therefore called on the Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government Area, Mr Wasiu Ayodeji Adesina and the Director of Health in the area, Dr Femi Ononuga, to intervene to ensure safe and functional primary health care delivcry in the area.
