Corruption: Nigeria to Recover $300 Million More of Abacha, Alamieyeseigha Loot from US

The Federal Government of Nigeria has signed an agreement with the United States of America to effect the return from banks in the US to Nigeria over $300 million part of money looted by the former Head of State, late General Sanni Abacha and a former Governor of Bayelsa State, late Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha.

This was made public by the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, while delivering a speech at the Chatham House, London, yesterday, Thursday, December 8.

Justice Malami revealed that the US government had already taken custody of the money, pulled from banks around the world in countries like the United Kingdom, France as well as from the US city of Jersey.
