Why Sale Community of Epe is at the Verge of Extinction

The Sala community of Epe Lagos has begged the Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwumi Ambode, to save them from the hands of land grabbers who have been dispossessing them of their ancestral land for some time now.

The community informed that the land grabbers claim that they are Lagos State Government officials and have already forcefully collected up to 5 acres of land from them without any papers to back it up.

According to one of the leaders of the community, Chief Muftau Ogunbiyi, the land grabbers have destroyed crops worth billions of naira in the area as they unleashed heavy land clearing equipment like bulldozers to clear out areas of land they want to grab.

He therefore, on behalf of the Sale community, appealed to Governor Ambode to set up a committee to look into the issue so as to save them from the ravages of the grabbers and the eventual extinction of their community if the criminal activities are not checked.
