Report coming in from Jos, the Plateau State capital, has indicated that the former Minister of Sports and Plateau State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Damishi Sango, his son, a driver and a few yet to be identified associates were yesterday, Wednesday, December 6, abducted by unknown gunmen .
The kidnap is said to have taken place in the evening along Jere Road in Kaduna State while the victims were on their way to Abuja to attend the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national convention scheduled to take place on Saturday, December 9.
Confirming the abduction of the Plateau State PDP chairman while addressing newsmen in Jos yesterday, the Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, John Akans stated that five individuals were taken and that the kidnappers were yet to make contact to neither the party nor the family members of the victims.
He said –
“Yes, our chairman, Chief Damishi Sango, and five other persons, including his son, driver and a chieftain of PDP in Plateau State were kidnapped by unknown gunmen on Wednesday evening.
It was the Police who called his family and intimated them of the incident because his son’s phone was seen inside the vehicle.”
