President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived Abidjan the capital of Côte d’Ivoire for the 5th European African Union EU-AU African Summit.
The President who was treated to cultural display on arrival in Abidjan was accompanied by some state governors, ministers, government officials and some leaders of the All Progressive Congress.
Notably among the Nigerian team for the summit are the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, who was among the team that received the President on arrival, while Governors of Bauchi and Akwa Ibom States as well as the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu were among the President’s entourage.
Meanwhile, the President had met with Nigerians resident in Cote d’Ivoire with whom he had an interactive session.
President Buhari used the opportunity of the interactive session to decry the unacceptable treatment matted out to Nigerians abroad especially the auctioning of its citizens as slaves in foreign lands.
He promised to repatriate all Nigerians currently trapped in Libya stating that the Federal Government would rehabilitate them and provide them with means to become productive citizens in their own country.
