Adamawa Boko Haram Attack: Death Toll Rises to 58

A recent report from Yola, the capital of Adamawa state has indicated that the death toll from Tuesday’s suicide bombing of a mosque in Mubi area of the state, has risen to 58.

Previous reports had put the number of deaths recorded after the attack at 50. However, it has now gone up as more bodies got accounted and some others who sustained injuries and were undergoing treatment at various hospitals gave up the ghost.

Recall that the Tuesday early morning attack had occurred after a teenager wearing a concealed suicide vest blew himself up after morning prayers at a mosque.

In a disclosure to newsmen yesterday, Dr. Era Mikailu, the Principal Medical Officer at the Mubi General Hospital, said that 48 people were brought to the hospital on the day of the attack.

He explained that by Wednesday, eight more people lost their lives and fifteen others who he said have been transfered to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Yola, remain in critical condition
