A suspected cultist, caught with seven human skulls exhumed from a cemetery in Kwara State, has urged the Police not to punish him but to leave him to God for divine punishment.
The suspect identified as Olayinka Abbas Akeem said the police should leave him to God for that is what he would have done if someone else exhumed and removed the heads of his parents for ritual purposes.
The suspect who spoke while being paraded by the Kwara State Police Command in Ilorin claimed that he was lured into occult business his friend, one Tunde alias Bante who is currently at large.
Olayinka admitted that it was the need to make quick money that made him listen to his friend and go into the business.
While parading the suspect alongside others, the Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Lawan Ado, explained that the suspect was arrested along Ilorin-Ajase Ipo Road with a sack containing the seven human heads, which were exhumed from a cemetery located at Igbo Owu community in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state on Tuesday.
He explained that the suspect exhumed the human heads for ritual purposes and would soon be charged to court even as effort is being made to apprehend the other fleeing suspect.
