A breaking news coming out of Adamawa State has indicated that an early morning suicide attack today, Tuesday, November 21, has claimed the lives of at least 30 persons with many more injured at Kunu Araha, in Mubi area of the state.
According to the state police command, the suicide attack which was carried out by a teenage boy, occurred after the early morning Islamic prayers around 5:20am local time.
Confirming the incident, the Adamawa police spokesman, Othman Abubakar, said –
“We were made to understand that there was a bomb blast at a mosque in Mubi and over 30 lives were lost.
A boy about 17-year-old wearing a suicide vest entered the mosque along with other worshipers.
Immediately after the prayers, he detonated the bomb. Many of the wounded are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Mubi North where the attacks occurred around Kunu Araha area.”
Eyewitness and respondents at the attack scene put the figure of those that died at not less than 40.
