On November 8, 1895, exactly 122 years ago today, Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen (1845-1923) accidentally discovered the x-ray.
The German Physicist was tinkering with electron beams passed into a glass vacuum tube when he saw the outline of his bones.
He called the discovery an x-ray and it won him the Nobel Prize.
X-rays have remained significant scientific advancement that would ultimately benefit a variety of fields, most of all medicine, by making the invisible visible.
