A recent report coming out of Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria, has indicated that not less than 11 persons were ambushed and gruesomely killed suspected Fulani herdsmen at Diyan junction in Rim District of Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria.
According to the report, 9 persons died on the spot, two died at the hospital while three more persons are currently battling for their life at some undisclosed hospital following the Fulani herdsmen attack yesterday, Tuesday, November 8, in the evening.
According to an eyewitness, the victims were returning from Makera market on a Golf-3 vehicle when the Fulani herdsmen plying the same route ambushed and trailed them to Rim junction in Makera Village where a military checkpoint is located.
It was while the the victims were offloading their wares at Diyan junction, close to Goko village in Rim community that the Fulani herdsmen unleashed mayhem on them killing and maiming with reckless abandon.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, ASP Tyopev Martias Terna, confirmed the incident and as has become the usual reaction said that the police has commenced investigation to track down and arrest the suspects.
