Man Dragged to Igbosere Magistrate’s Court for Stealing N10 Million

Benjamin Agbogu, 32, has yesterday, Wednesday, November 1, been arraigned before an Igbosere Magistrate’s Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing N10 million from a businessman.

The accused who is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing by the police, was alleged to have, in company of others still at large, committed the crime on April 2016, at FESTAC Town Lagos.

The prosecutor, ASP Henry Obiazi, told the court that the defendant, Agbogu, accosted the complainant, one Chukwu Chinedu, and forcefully stole N10 million from him.

He added that the offences are punishable under Sections 287 (5) (a) and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the offences and the magistrate, Mr. B. A. Sonuga, granted him bail in the sum of N5 million with two sureties in like sum.

The case was therefore adjourned until December 5th.
