How 26-Year-Old Man Abducts Two, Asks for N300,000 Ransom

One Abiodun Joseph, 28, has been arrested in Ogun State for allegedly kidnapping Tobiloba Aleshiloye, 12, and Yussuf Kudus, 8, and asking for a ransom of N300,000.

on September 15 at Agbara in Ogun State. He then demanded a ransom of N150,000 on each child. Joseph was eventually arrested in a hotel in Ibadan, Oyo state and the victims were rescued.

According to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect, Abiodun Joseph, committed the crime on September 15, at Agbara in Ogun State but was arrested in a hotel in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital resulting in the rescue of the victims.

The police PPRO, Oyeyemi, said –

“The suspect, who resides at No 10, Canaanland, Sango-Ota, abducted the two children on the 15th of September, 2017 and took them to an unknown place from where he started demanding the sum of N150,000 per child from the parents of the abducted children.

The case was reported to the police at Agbara Division and detectives were detailed to be on the trail of the kidnapper.

Technical investigation was conducted and the hideout of the suspect was located in a hotel at Ojoo area of Ibadan and the place was stormed by detectives where the suspect was arrested and victims rescued unhurt.”

The victims have since been reunited with their parents while the Oyo State Police Commissioner, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the case to Anti-Kidnapping/Cultist Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for further investigation.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police appealed to members of the public to take security of their children serious in order not to make them victims of kidnappers.
