In a bid to address the issue of the agitation for the sovereign state of Biafra, the Governors of the South-Estern states have yesterday had a closed-door meeting with the leader of the Indegenous People of Biafra, Prince Nnamdi Kanu.
After the meeting which was held at the Government House, Enugu, the Chairman of the South-East Governors Forum and Governor of Ebonyi State, Mr Dave Umahil, said that the forum had noted the demands and concerns of the pro-Biafra group.
He briefed a group of journalist after the meeting as follows –
“The South-East governors today met with the leader of IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, together with Professor Ben Nwabueze and Evangelist Elliot Uko.
The meeting deliberated on the demands of IPOB and noted their concerns accordingly.
However, the meeting agreed that these demands by IPOB should not be absolute, rather the South East governors shall immediately engage the leader and the entire leadership of IPOB in further meetings and dialogue, with a view to quickening the resolutions of all issues amicably.”
