According to a resent report, Barrister Vincent Egechukwu Obetta, an Enugu based lawyer, has approached the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking an order of mandamus compelling the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, to arrest Yerima Shettima and his colleagues who, under the aegis of Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF0, on June 6, this year, issued a quit notice on all Igbos living in northern Nigeria to vacate the region on or before October 1, 2017, or be forced out.

Barrister Obetta had told newsmen in Enugu that the recent suspension of the quit notice as widely reported in the media is not an excuse to forfeit trial of the Arewa youths who issued the quit notice and those backing them as prescribed by the law.
