The Federal Government has expressed worry over the current strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) arguing that it contravenes due process.
The Minister of Education Malam Adamu Adamu who expressed the Federal Government’s frustration to newsmen in Abuja yesterday, said that that the government was unable to honor its agreement with ASUU because the union did not give government enough time for them to negotiate and address their grievances.
Malam Adamu however assured that all will be done to ensure that the striking university teachers call off the strike and go back to the classroom in the interest of the students (some of whom are about to write their semester exam), parents, and Nigerians in general.
