Apapa Port Roads To Gulp N4.34 Billion

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola has revealed over the weekend that the design for the notorious Apapa port road billed for reconstruction and rehabilitation is ready.

Mr. Fashiola explained that the work would not take a conventional form, rather concrete pavement method will be applied in this case due to the waterlogged nature of the Apapa and its surrounding environs. He said that drainage system  is also integrated into the plan and that all measures have been taken to ensure that the road will not only last but be able to carry the heavy load and traffic as the main access road to the ports.

The Apapa port roads project which is estimated to cost about N4.34 billion is to be financed by the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dangote Group, and Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc.

The Minister, Mr. Babatunde Fashiola assures that work will commence soon on the port roads and that the all measures have been put in place to ensure that it is completed on schedule.
