Gov. Wike Calls For US Visa Office For South-South & South-East

The Executive Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has appealed to the United States government to open a Visa Office in Port Harcourt, the state capital, for the people of South-South and South-East of Nigeria.

Governor Wike made the call earlier this week when he hosted the the United States Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr William Symington, at a State Banquet in Port Harcourt. He explained that with a Visa office in Port Harcourt, it would be easier for people in the two southern regions of South-South and South-East to access services and save the time and resources of traveling to Lagos for same.

The Governor expressed his willingness to assist the United States Embassy set up the Visa office in Port Harcourt by providing land, funds and infrastructure needed to set it up. He equally assured Ambassador Symington of the state government’s commitment to the success and security of any United State investments in agriculture and industries in Rivers State.

The US Ambassador, William Symington on  his part commended Gov. Wike for the numerous development programs and projects he has executed in the state.
