Herdsmen After My Life!” Delta Lawmaker Cries Out

The member representing Ethiope East in Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Evance Ivwurie has cried out yesterday, 13th June, over threat to his life as a result of his opposing armed Fulani herdsmen who invaded his constituency.
In a statement announcing the threat to his life, Chief Ivwurie stated that some individuals from Northern Nigeria have engaged some law enforcement agencies officials to continually harass him in attempt to silence him. He said that a Kaduna based group had petitioned the Minister of Interior and National Security Adviser that himself and the Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Friday Osanebi had called for genocide against Housa/Fulani in their constituencies.
Chief Ivwurie explained that what he was currently facing was as a result of his decision to champion and stand in the gap for the people of his constituency who are killed and maimed daily by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen adding that he has been been invited by the Delta State Police Command on several occasions where he made it clear that as a law abiding citizen and with respect for the Nigerian constitution, he would not make such unscrupulous statement against any section of the country.

Recall that the AK-47 wielding killer Fulani herdsmen have invaded many parts of the country where they have killed and maimed innocent farmers and other villagers in recent times. Their maintenance as remained largely unabated leading some analysts to conclude that some elements from the highest authorities are shielding and arming them.
