A I9 year-old girl, Mumuna Haladu has been rescued from captivity of the terrorist Boko Haram sect in Maiduguri.
According to reports coming in from Maiduguru today, Friday 9th June, Mumuna was rescued with an 8-month-old baby as she was escaping from Sambisa forest where she had been held captive by the terrorists for three years.
She explained that when she was abducted and taken to Sambisa forest, she was forced to marry a member of the sect called Bana (who is probably the father of her 8 month-old child)
This adds one to the number of the Chibok girls that have been recovered so far.
82 girls believed to be among the 276, aged between 16 and 18, abducted by Boko Haram since April 2014 were released early May after a ‘lengthy’ negotiation with the Muhammadu Buhari led government that resulted in the swap of Boko Haram suspects for the girls.
