The special adviser on media and publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mr. Femi Adesina has on Saturday in a media interactive affirmed that the promises the APC made to Nigerian during election campaigns are the promises being kept by the Buhari led administration.
Making reference to World Bank and other related reports, Mr. Adesina said that two years down the line the APC government has done well giving the numerous challenges facing it.
He attributed the recent economic recession in the country to the fall in oil prices and the inability of the previous administration to save for the rainy day.
Recall that revenue dropped from as high $3.5billion a month under President Jonathan’s administration to below $500million a month when President Buhari took over government.
Adesina said that however, things are getting better and that the government is on track in getting the country out of recession. He said that in other to inject liquidity and stimulate the economy, the federal government marked out N1.2 trillion last year for capital projects.
Social analysts have wondered how well the economy will fare going forward giving that the national budget has not been passed almost halfway into the year and that the health of the President does not help matters.
Mr. Adesina appeared on the media interactive alongside the minister of information and culture, Mr. Lai Mohammed.
