The Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has visited Taormia, Sicily in Italy for the ongoing G7 Summit with rounds off this Saturday, 27 May.
Prof. Osinbajo who has met with some world leaders at the summit is expected to be back in the country this evening.
The G7 which meets annually to discuss global issues is a group consisting of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States, while the European Union is represented.
The G7 countries are the seven major advanced economies representing over 64% of the net global wealth estimated at $2263 trillion.
Very high net national wealth and high Human Development index are criteria for membership which accounts for why no African country makes the membership. Maybe they can only come to observe like our Acting President is doing. He flew out this morning and is expected in this evening.
