The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, a pan Igbo socio-cultural organization, Chief Nnia Nwodo has described the Nigerian political structure as ‘unfair, exploitative and unsustainable’ hence the nation’s future is bleak and could only be rescued through sincere deliberation among the people to forge a better alternative for the good of all.
Chief Nwodo made the pronouncement at a national interactive event organized in Abuja this Thursday to mark the 90th birthday of a foremost Ijaw leader, Chief Edwin Clark.
The Ohaneze President posited that since independence, civilians have not been able to agree on a political structure for the country and that the political system is unfair, exploitative and unsustainable. He said that the nation’s constitution was imposed by the military which is undemocratic as it reflected the imbalance in their composition.
He maintained that the economic indices are not encouraging and that in terms of law and order, the system is fraught with impunity, indiscipline, and incompetence.
