Ebola scare: Body flown in tests negative

The Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole on Wednesday confirmed that the test carried out on the body of a deceased man flown into the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) on Monday by Kenya Airways has tested negative for the Ebola virus

The minister, however, did not disclose the cause of death of the deceased in observance of the ethic of medical confidentiality.

The said corpse, which is of a young man came in through Kenya Airways flight from the Democratic Republic of Congo DRC and was quarantined by the Port Health Services (PHS).

The suspicion that the deceased died of the Ebola virus stemmed from the fact that the Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, is currently facing another outbreak of the deadly virus.
